LEAVING
THE
NEST

Comedy Workshops for tWeens & Teens

Is your tween itching to take their comedy skills to the next level?

“Leaving The Nest” is designed for students who’ve mastered the basics of comedy and are eager to refine their material, get feedback from professional comedians, and work together to punch up each others’ jokes like a real writers’ room!

Over the course of four weeks, students will workshop their material in a supportive, collaborative environment led by Nicole Blaine (owner of The Crow, comic, and proud mom) with comedians you’ve seen on America’s Got Talent, Netflix, and more! It’s not about learning the basics again—this is a chance for teens to hone their unique voice, experiment with new ideas, and get the personalized guidance they need to improve their jokes and stage presence!

Each session takes place on the 1st through 4th Mondays of the month from 5 - 6 PM at The Crow giving students a true comedy club atmosphere to grow in. There’s no pressure to perform in a showcase—this workshop is all about growth and preparation, with the goal of having students ready to open (perform their set) for our family friendly show, Pull My Finger or our teen friendly night, Murder at The Crow.

Get ready for a fun, supportive space where your teen can build confidence, refine their comedy style, and prepare to take the stage at one of LA’s best comedy clubs. Spots are limited, so don’t wait—sign up today!

Recommended for kids 6th grade and up!

STAND UP

Join in on the fun whether you've taken a previous class or not!
The Crow is combining the basics of a Stand Up 101 Class with the Next Level Lessons of a 201 Class for this unique opportunity for anyone interested in learning the art of comedy!
Stand-Up will help your tWeen develop skills they can and will use on and off the stage…

The Crow offers middle schoolers the opportunity to learn professional stand-up comedy by developing their personal comedic voice and point of view! This course helps young adults learn joke structure, technique, and comedy writing formulas while creating their own material. Students will learn the concepts of building a story, premise, and punch line all while gaining confidence in public speaking and communication. We work on stage presence, finding courage to keep going when the going gets rough, thinking on your feet, and finding the funny structurally! This 6 week course meets once a week for 2 hours, culminating in a public stand-up/storytelling show at The Crow’s main stage.
