Kate Zasowski (she/her) is a queer writer and comedian from Rochester, NY, currently based in Los Angeles. Her work often explores LGBTQ issues, female friendship, and mental illness with a comedic twist. In TV, she recently wrapped on I LOVE THAT FOR YOU (Showtime) and prior to that co-wrote an episode of BIG SHOT (Disney+). She previously worked as a writers’ assistant on ATYPICAL, BUSY TONIGHT, SPITTING IMAGE, and LAUGH MOBB’S LAFF TRACKS. She brings years of writers’ room experience along with positive energy and silly yet grounded joke and story pitches. Additionally, Kate assisted writer/director Kelly Oxford on her breakout feature film, PINK SKIES AHEAD.

Kate has done stand-up comedy for over a decade, starting in Ithaca, NY; but her passion for comedy began when she started memorizing joke book one-liners at age 4 to recount to the hairdressers at her mom’s salon. Later, after switching from Catholic to public school during the famously easy middle school years, Kate would tell jokes on the bus in an effort to make friends. She’s not sure how effective it was, but it definitely helped her to learn joke structure. Kate featured for Jenny Yang on her Fiance Energy tour in 2024 and has also performed at the Hollywood Improv, Gotham Comedy Club, and the Portland Queer Comedy Festival.

Kate co-wrote and performed in the monthly show SELF HELP ME at the Dynasty Typewriter, which was also a featured act at SF Sketchfest and Netflix is a Joke Fest. She co-hosts the queer comedy podcast Straight Guys with Caitlin Reese, where the two roast straight and gay culture with a special guest. Kate also produced the monthly online stand-up show COMEDY CROSSING, which took place inside the video game Animal Crossing during the height of the covid pandemic. New York Magazine’s Vulture called Comedy Crossing “the most joyful live comedy right now.”

Kate writes for YouTube channel YZ Productions, and she contributed jokes for NBC's Olympics ICYMI on Snapchat in summer 2020. A recipient of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Diversity Scholarship, Kate has completed UCB's Improv and Sketch programs and is currently on the House Improv team Pretty Ugly at the Pack Theater. You may have read Kate’s digital content via TXT Stories, CollegeHumor, Reductress, McSweeney’s… or Snapchat’s Brother HQ, where she inexplicably wrote dating advice for millennial and gen-Z men.

Before she was a comic, Kiki Andersen was an Emmy award-winning news reporter under her real name, Kelly Andersen, but after enough people confused her for Kellyanne Conway on Twitter (yes, really) she decided to change her name, her career and do something way less depressing.

Now she uses everything she learned about how the world works to make people laugh.

Kiki lives in Los Angeles where she does standup and sketch comedy seven nights a week. Since moving west, she has rapidly moved up the comedy ladder, performing regularly at the Laugh Factory and other clubs on the west coast. She has shared the stage with comedy’s biggest stars including Bill Burr, Whitney Cummings, Jim Jefferies, Nick Kroll and others. Her podcast, Indecent with Kiki Andersen, has garnered a loyal following in just under a year since debuting. In May 2024, Kiki was a Featured Festival Comedian for the Netflix is a Joke Festival.
